Training Camp and Media Summit

Well life has kinda been nuts this past week. We had our first official time trials of year here in Milwaukee last Saturday. I skated 13:45 for 10,000m which I was relatively happy with. The first time trial of the year is always a weird and nerve wracking experience. You are usually more nervous for the first time trials of the year than you are for Worlds. So I am happy to have that done.

On Sunday, I headed back to Park City for the USOC Media Summit. The summit brought together over 100 athletes and 450 members of the media. It was a great opportunity to sit with people who don’t normally follow our sport on a daily basis and discuss what this year looks like and the basics of my story. It was also a great opportunity to hang with the awesome people at the USOC.

To say the day was nuts would be an understatement. We had interviews every ten minutes with a different outlet with quite a few photo shoots mixed in. The longest break we had all day was roughly twenty minutes for lunch. By the time the day was done, my agent Ian and I were pretty much punch drunk.

Yesterday, I was back on the plane heading back to Milwaukee for the rest of the training camp. Being home for only 36 hours was absolutely nuts but I am really glad I had the opportunity to go to Media Summit. Check out some pictures below from this crazy day.
