So, we are seven days out from the official start of our competition season. Seven days. It seems like yesterday that we were meeting up for our initial pre-season camp in Colorado Springs. But nonetheless it is time for us to start competing for real.
The last few weeks saw us getting back from our training camp in Brew City. We had kind of an easy week which was supposed to allow us to get readjusted to altitude. It turned into me getting a tad sick and having to tone it back a bit. The touch of the cold was nothing serious but still had to be looked after so that I did not end up having it linger for the rest of the fall. Luckily, my dad was in town, so the reduced training load allowed us to really get a chance to hang and just catch up. We went on some really nice walks around PC which made me nostalgic for the days when our whole family would go for a walk after dinners when we lived in Northbrook.
This week, I have bounced back from the cold and am back to the fun of training. I am definitely starting to have more energy and feeling like the legs are coming around. The energy at the Oval right now is pretty good with everyone trying to throw down some fast tempo times on a daily basis.
Until next week!
